Our second Christmas coffee comes to you from two different countries, making a cracker of a blend. Everyone may be singing, you may hear those sleigh bells ringing, but this is all you should be asking for - for your coffee gifts anyway.
Julio Dagua grows Castillo & Colombia on his farm, El Laurel in the hills above the town of Miranda, in Cauca state - one of the regions that we buy plenty of coffee from, and we're big fans of the classic Colombian juicy profile that comes from this area. His coffee brings zesty orange marmalade, red cherry and pomegranate sweetness, and some caramel to the proceedings.
Jacutinga is one of our favourite farms, and Chris visited back in March of 2017, and we're visiting again in ealry 2019. Osmar & Cleusa Pereria grow Yellow and Red Catuai in the hills of Sul de Minas, which they process using a pulped natural. We're eagerly looking forward to the next delivery from them, which should land early in 2019 - in the meantime, their Yellow Catuai lot brings lip-smacking chocolate and a creamy fruity balance to this blend.
In espresso, this is bright but well-rounded - loads of orange zest and some red cherry, with a sticky sweet finish, laced with cinnamon and caramel. In milk, you'll find some marzipan flavours, and some chocolate too (we think it tastes a little like Christmas cake). In filter, you'll get a big chocolate body, with some orange zesty-ness, and a gentle warming winter spice finish. Happy Christmas!
