Senõr Alirio Muñoz farms Caturra and Typica on his farm, Finca El Diviso, which is about 8 km southwest of the little town of Bruselas, in the south-west of Huila state. This is the latest coffee from Huila that we've featured, as it's one of Colombia's most famous coffee growing regions, and a big favourite of ours.
Grown at altitudes of 1,520-1,650 metres above sea level, and processed with the fully washed method, then dried on site on parabolic drying tables, this is a classic mix of citrus and sweetness. We get a big hit of grapefruit, but there's lemon and orange too, with a lovely honey sweetness and a some plum and raspberry flavours also.
Colombians are really versatile coffees, and this is no exception, it'll work in every kind of brew method, but our current favourite is via an Aeropress. However you brew it, it'll put a smile in your face.
