Jesus Barrera farms Caturra on his 7 hectare farm in Potrerillos, Elias, one of the subregions of the famous Huila department in south western Colombia. There are so many different flavours available from this country, but across the board, coffees from Colombia tend to have a beautiful balance, and this is no exception. We've sourced several coffees from Huila in the past, and we're big fans of the flavours associated with the region.
Grown at altitudes of 1,700 metres above sea level, and processed with the fully washed method, this La Quebrada lot is really sweet, and incredibly creamy - it reminds us of vanilla yoghurt, with a dollop of blackberry jam, and a caramel and dark chocolate finish. It'll work in every brew method, but our favourite (at the moment) is via a V60.
